COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IMPACT |
||
|
Good morning residents,
Following the work that the Bolton Farnworth, Little Lever and Kearsley team have been doing around community engagement and raising the awareness around reporting incidents to the police; we have seen a recent increase in reporting of anti social behaviour across those areas in comparison to the start of our community engagement campaign.
I wish to share with you the numbers and data so you are able to see the impact of reporting and the work we are doing as a team to ensure those involved in committing crime in your areas are being held to account for their actions.
In January there were 43 logs reported in relation to Anti-social Behaviour to the police, this is an under representation of the anti-social behaviour being committed in your localities. In comparison the most recent data shows that in March there were 65 logs reported relating to anti-social behaviour. We have therefore seen an increase of 22 logs. This can be attributed to the work the local neighbourhood police have been doing around engagement in your locality and an improved relation between police and community.
As a result of the increase in reports the Bolton South neighbourhood team have been able to submit 28 referrals to the anti-social behaviour pathway. In direct comparison, in January there were no referrals made to the pathway. The pathway is a structured approach to managing offenders of anti-social behaviour, it focuses on children being referred to early intervention to prevent repeat offending.
Further to the above, due to the increase in reporting, in March your local neighbourhood team were able to secure 26 positive outcomes on crimes reported. Positive outcomes are defined by anything from a charge, caution, or community resolution and result in a criminal record for the offender. In comparison, prior to our work around community engagement; in January only 7 crimes were solved with a positive outcome.
The data speaks for itself and highlights to you, the residents, the importance of reporting crime and intelligence. With these reports my team can continue to work hard to secure positive outcomes and hold the offenders of these incidents to account for their behaviour; and this will impact and improve your safety within the community.
